Explorer Scouts are young people, usually aged between 14 and 18 years old. They make up the fourth Section of the Scouting family. There are many types of Explorer Scout Units, some may be linked to their local Scout Group, others may be based around a district unit. |
Not all units meet every week, because you will often be out and about at weekends or in the holidays doing activities. There will be times when you will be busy doing other things such as exams, and being an Explorer Scout will have to fit around these. |

The Young Leaders Scheme is designed for Explorers who choose to devote a large proportion of their time in Scouting to service in another section. |
Our group has an active Young Leaders Scheme, which allows individuals to take part in District and County events and activities whilst still allowing them to remain attached to the group as valuable members of our leadership team.
You can discuss your options when it's time for you to move on from the Scout Troop and join the Explorer Section when you reach your 14th birthday.
